Conversion Notes:
If the special Abra Data Dictionary is installed in the RL folder for R&R, then MOST existing reports will work without modification of the underscore fields. If the report was originally created and saved as a .rrw file (rather than starting in an .rp5 library), R&R will automatically replace the saved underscore field formulas with the new ones.

If the special Abra Data Dictionary is not installed, you will get stars because the old underscore fields will not work.

If the special Abra Data Dictionary is installed but you still get stars, R&R did NOT automatically replace the old underscore field formulas with the new ones for one of the following reasons:
 1) The Abra Data Dictionary is not installed correctly.

 2) The User ID used to access Report Designer does not have dictionary entries in place. Default user ID is ADMIN. If another user is created, you have to copy ADMIN's Abra Data Dictionary entries to that user with the utility.

 3) The report in question originated in an .rp5 library and R&R does not automatically translate from old formulas to new. Therefore, you have to follow the instructions and apply the worksheet you are working on. This includes removing the offending items and/or putting in placeholders, purging unused calcs, saving the report, then re-opening the report and using the new formulas in place of the old wherever that applies.

Certain underscore fields will continue to work without modification, including _NAME1, the most commonly used underscore formula.

R&R V10 will not open Abra R&R .rp5 files, and neither did prior versions. Individual reports must first be saved to a .rrw file prior to transition. If the person no longer has Abra R&R, they can send the .rp5 file to us and we'll burst it, or at least the reports they know they need. Then those reports may need a brief conversion.

Typical updating of a report is almost always 15 minutes or less. Some can be modified in just a couple of minutes.

Once a report is converted to R&R v10, the user should not attempt to use it again in Abra R&R v9. This can and will cause problems, but even those can be quickly fixed.

Record level security in Abra R&R is gone. This was rarely an issue.

Field level security can be applied by the user in R&R v10 using the Data Dictionary, but requires significant effort and the ADMIN access must be greatly restricted.

Performance should generally improve over Abra R&R v9 since that required a detour through internal security.

In some cases, new underscore fields adversely impact performance. If so, one can define a calc field that works faster, provided the code table is defined at the "Employer" level rather than the enterprise level.
