September 6, 1999 -- Liveware Publishing is pleased to announce the opening of a new software development facility and sales office in Maynard Massachusetts. Located at the landmark Clock Tower Place, the new facility is staffed by former members of the Concentric Data Systems team that originally developed R&R Report Writer and ARPEGGIO products.
According to Rob Hershfield, General Manager, "We selected this site because of its central location with easy accessibility for both former employees and for the local talent pool. Plus, with over 1 million square feet of space we have plenty of room to grow." The Clock Tower complex is currently being renovated and is home to more than 80 small businesses, mostly software and Internet startups, and offers a campus atmosphere with incubator type amenities.
The Clock Tower Place has an interesting history, opening in the 1800s it was originally the site of the world's largest woolen factory which was a supplier to the Union Army during the Civil War. First renovated during the 1960s for Digital Equipment Corporation, the buildings and Liveware Publishing offices are furnished with a state-of-the art fiber optic network infrastructure.
Several key members of the Concentric team have joined Liveware Publishing, including Mr. Hershfield, formerly Director of Marketing and Product Management for Concentric and Wall Data for nearly 15 years. Trudy Maddox, Director of Sales, also comes to Liveware Publishing from Concentric and Wall Data. Kathleen Fleming (nee Keller) will be joining Liveware Publishing as Director of Technical Support, with 12 years experience advising users on R&R. In addition, several key members of the R&R and ARPEGGIO development team will be working with Liveware Publishing on a permanent or consulting basis.
