Renamed to R&R ReportWorks
Claymont, Delaware (November 1, 2004) – Beginning with the
release of the latest edition of its flagship R&R program, scheduled for early
December, 2004, Liveware announces that it has changed the name of the software
to R&R ReportWorks, from R&R Report Writer
What
began in 1986 as a tool to read and generate output from Lotus spreadsheets has
evolved 18 years later into a full-featured reporting tool with everything
related to creating, managing and deploying relational reports to process any
kind of table-driven data. Liveware has decided to make the name change in
recognition that R&R is more than for simply writing reports. R&R ReportWorks includes the
following primary modules for database reporting:
R&R Report
Designer – a.k.a. “R&R Report Writer”, for creation and editing or custom
reports from any table-based data.
R&R Runtime
– Royalty-free report generation engine, programming utilities and deployment
aids, for distribution of R&R reports.
Rapid Runner
– Added to R&R in 2001, this end-user utility program provides a front-end
application for deployment, batching and scheduling of R&R reports with
royalty-free R&R Runtime.
R&R Report
Librarian – Added to R&R in 2001, this end-user utility program catalogs and
analyzes R&R report formats, and manages the deployment of R&R Report Writer.
R&R Data
Dictionary – Completely redesigned with extensive enhancements in 2002, this
end-user utility program automatically catalogs the users data tables from where
R&R generates reports, and allows users of R&R Report Writers to better
understand their data and table structures.
R&R Result
Set Browser – Added to R&R in 2000, this end-user utility program provides
report-data drill-down and export functions.
R&R Email
Bursting – Added to R&R in 2001, this module automatically “bursts” an R&R
report output and sends different sections to different recipients via email.
All of the modules listed above, plus several others, are included with the
current R&R Report Writer Version 10+. The R&R Report Writer and R&R Runtime
modules in R&R ReportWorks Dec 04 edition will carry the “version 11” tag.
Liveware
acquired the rights to R&R Report Writer and all related programs from Wall
Data, Inc., in September 1999. Since that time Liveware has released four
upgrades to the R&R reporting software, with a fifth, major, release set for
next month.
Liveware plans
two additional releases in calendar 2005, enhancing various modules of
R&R ReportWorks, and concurrently announces the
R&R Premiere Club. Membership in R&R
Premiere Club entitles participants to automatically receive all R&R upgrades.
